Storytime Outline: Timed Lesson Plan for 30 minutes - Free Printable
When I first started storytime, keeping pace was one of my greatest difficulties.
This timed outline really helped me keep my storytime on track.
It allows a few minutes to welcome everyone to class, followed by reading our first book. I like to do a fun action rhyme right after a book, to really get the wiggles out.
Next, I pass out shakers and we do shaker time! For me, 3 songs is the sweet spot.
For the second book I like to read a really fun and silly book.
Then, I pass out drum sticks and we do 2 drumstick songs.
For book 3 I usually do a very short oversized book or a pop-up. At this point it can be really easy to lose the kids' interest. I finish up with bubbles and stamps!
I hope this timed outline helps you in the library, classroom or at home!
Happy Planning!
