Five Little Acorns: A Storytime Rhyme for Fall
Five Little Acorns is a fun and silly rhyme that I love to use in the fall. You can act is out as a finger play or incorporate flannel pieces or puppets.
Five Little Acorns
"Five little acorns sitting in a tree
Along came Mr. Squirrel, as hungry as can be.
Then the fall winds blew and rustled all the leaves.
Down came an acorn, Mr. Squirrel was very pleased."
continue rhyme counting down: four, three, two, one.
Try these actions:
Five little acorns sitting in a tree (hold up five fingers)
Along came Mr. Squirrel, as hungry as can be. (scrunch 2 fingers in a "peace sign")
Then the fall winds blew and rustled all the leaves. (cup mouth and blow)
Down came an acorn, Mr. Squirrel was very pleased. (rub belly)
Use this action rhyme in the library, at home or in the classroom!
