Storytime Rhyme: I Have a Little Turtle Fingerplay - Free Printable
I came to work the other day to find and adorable tiny turtle finger puppet on my desk. A very thoughtful patron had donated it to our storytime puppet collection. I picked up the little guy and knew immediately which rhyme I would be using:
I Have a Little Turtle: A Storytime Poem
I have a little turtle.
(creep fingers like crawling turtle)
He lives in a box.
(draw box in the air)
He swims in the water,
(swim hands through air)
He climbs on the rocks.
(walk fingers along forearm)
He snapped at a minnow,
(clap hands in air to the right)
He snapped at a flea,
(clap hands in air to the left)
He snapped at a mosquito,
(clap hands in air above head)
And he snapped at me.
(clap hands in air by chest)
He caught the minnow,
(grab the air to the right)
He caught the flea,
(grab the air to the left)
He caught the mosquito,
(grab the air above head)
But he didn't catch me!
(waggle finger saying, No!)
