Bulletin Board November Scarecrows

For November we went with scarecrows and corn fields. Now, I'm a desert girlie and I've never actually been in a corn field, but I think it turned out pretty cute!

The gate and corn stalks were cut out from painted butcher paper. The scarecrows, corn and birds were printed from Canva. And the flowers were cut out from construction paper free-hand.

This massive pole is always fun to decorate. For Halloween, it was a tree. We left paper from the "trunk" and it became a giant scarecrow!

These scarecrow-themed decorations will not only brighten up our space but also engage kids in the magic of the fall season.

A festive bulletin board is a wonderful way to celebrate autumn while promoting literacy and creativity. To create your own, start by designing a large, friendly scarecrow — complete with a colorful shirt, patchwork pants, and a big, welcoming smile. You can even make the scarecrow interactive by leaving space for kids to add their own creative touches, like drawing their faces, writing about their favorite fall activities, or sharing a poem or short story they’ve written.

To complement the scarecrow, you can include book recommendations related to fall themes—like harvest, pumpkins, or spooky adventures—helping to tie the artwork to reading materials. You can also incorporate autumn-themed decorations such as paper leaves, cornstalks, or mini pumpkins to enhance the seasonal vibe.

Your bulletin board will be an inviting, engaging feature that sparks imagination and conversation among library visitors. It’s a great way to create a festive environment while encouraging children to explore books and activities related to the harvest season. Let’s get ready for fall fun!
