Storytime Outline: On the Farm

On the Farm: A new storytime outline for kids of all ages. 

I begin with an active "Hello" song, followed by morning announcements. Then jump right in to our first book "Barnyard Dance" by Sandra Boynton.

I pull out our silly scarves, found here: Square Dance Scarves and use them for "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes". We then listen and dance to 'Shake Your Scarves by Johnette Downing. 

Next, we read the oversized book "Barnyard Banter".

I like to pull out my puppet collection to sing "Old McDonald Had a Farm!" It's always a hit. 

Finally we hand out egg shakers and do a few action songs before saying goodbye.
